Falling into Fall

I love fall. I never get as excited about any other season as i do about fall. I love wathcing the leaves change and seeing the array of colors on every tree. I love the slight chill in the mornings and the brisk nights. I love throwing on a sweatshirt and grabbing a beer on the way to the football game. I love the smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven. I love even more carving the pumpkins with my loved ones and putting them on the porch for all to see. I love coming up with crazy costumes and wearing black nail polish and vampire teeth. I love watching old halloween movies. I love being so scared at haunted houses that I swear I will never go back, but always do. I love the ghosts, ghouls, and gobblins that run through the streets on halloween night. I love witches and cauldrons and black cats and scary stories. I love the feeling that Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the promise of turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing. I love when my whole family gets together to share what we are thankful for and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To me, fall promises a change. The promise of a new season. The trees change, the weather changes, our attire changes, and we have the opportunity to change. This may be why fall is always my favorite time of year.
