What Plan?

When I was younger I always thought that I had to have a detailed plan for my life. I am not a planner by nature so I figured if I had my plan already for when I grew up, my life would be set. Apparently no matter how much I planned, my life decided to follow a completely different path and the more that I tried to get back on track, the further away I would end up. I am a bit of a free spirit, so the fact that things have not worked out according to plan does not hinder me too much, in fact it tends to make life more of an adventure- I have decided to look at life as a blank canvas. I can literally do anything that comes my way (speaking within my financial means of course). I have nothing holding me back or keeping me from coming up with and trying many different options and if I fail, that’s ok, because I can move onto the next adventure.

It has taken me a long time to realize this. I thought when I got out of college, I would find a job that would turn into a career right away, get married, and begin the rest of my life. Not one of those turned out to be true, however it did open up doors for many other options. It is making me find myself. Making me look and my life and figure out what I really want to do, not what looks good to the rest of society.  It is taking me out of my comfort zone and forcing me into putting myself out there, taking risks, failing, picking myself up and going at it again from a different angle. It has given me the opportunity to travel, to experience life from a completely different point of view. It has given me the opportunity to meet amazing people, to work with a great company, and make a name for myself.

So even though my life has not followed the plan that I had originally set up for myself, it turns out it has been a blessing in disguise. My life is an adventure and I can’t wait to see what unfolds.
