Teenagers from Mars: Location Outer Space

Sigh. Another New York Fashion Week has come to an end. It has always been a dream of mine to just be in New York during this week to experience all of the hype and excitement that surrounds the shows and events that go on. One day, I will make it. However, since I was unable to make it this year, thanks to cyberspace, I was able to have up to the minute coverage of all things NYFW.  One of my all time favorite designers is Jeremy Scott. He is most famous for his eccentric designs, loud colors and out of this world ideas. He is constantly pushing the envelope in terms of what is considered “high fashion” and his Spring 2013 collection featured this week definitely did just that. His theme of “Teenagers from Mars ” featured a futuristically retro look including hyped up hair and lots of colorful shapes and animal print. If you mix fashions from Outer Space with fashions from the 70′s, you have the spring line. Its different, its fun, its exactly what I love to see among designers. It may not be the Ralph Lauren or Marchesa style (who I also adore) but it IS unique, which makes him stand out among so many others.

Although I was unable to be physically present at this years’ New York Fashion Week, I love being able to see all of the designers show off their latest ideas and designs! Here’s hoping that I make it next year!  And as for Jeremy Scott, I think Spring of 2013 will definitely bring out the martians here on earth!
